Many Trumpeter Swans This Year

We are seeing a larger number of Trumpeter Swans in Griffin Lake this year. Heather took these photos a few days ago. The weather at this time of the year (December) is pretty gloomy but the swans seem to love it. Hope you enjoy the photos.

Eagle View Trail Complete

The trail is about a 2.2 km loop. The name derives from the fact that it is actually rare to complete the trail without seeing either Bald Eagles or Golden Eagles along the way. Photos to come.

Welcome to Our New Mobile Friendly Website

This is our brand new website and thus new blog. This is what’s know as a mobile friendly responsive website because it responds to any screen size by adjusting the display automatically. This makes it display well in any device from desktop down to the smallest of  mobile phones. Cool huh?

The English Room

This second story room is our largest and features two queen-sized beds (positioned semi-privately), a full ensuite bath, an 11 foot open beam ceiling with ceiling fan, air conditioning and a  sitting area with comfy leather arm chairs. The room’s large window frames the “picture perfect” view, at the center  of which is the snow capped Mount English, after which the room was named, Griffin Lake and the surrounding lush forested area.

A blend of romance and elegance gives this room a traditional but distinct ambiance. You will find finely woven bedding, comfy beds with quality linens, a combination of walls finished in antique white and mahogany stain, plus interesting decor throughout the room.

Please note – Rates are based on double occupancy (2 persons) The additional person rate is $45 per person for all ages.

Storm’s Place Cabin

This quaint and cozy B&B cabin for two is situated only 10 meters (30 feet) from the main  lodge. There are no cooking/kitchen facilities in this cabin.

The cabin features a picturesque view of Griffin Lake, Griffin Mountain and Mount English. It offers country charm with a laid back attitude and is furnished with a queen-sized country style bookcase bed, dresser and armoire, has a small sitting area, full ensuite bath, ceiling fan and air conditioning and is tastefully decorated using a combination of traditional natural hues. Sit at the window and take in the view of the tranquil waters of Griffin Lake and the rugged mountain peaks. The cabin’s location offers an inviting private retreat with the convenience and use of the lodge at your doorstep.

Cabin rental includes breakfast for two in the main lodge.

The Eagle River Room

This room is situated on the second level of the lodge and boasts a spectacular view of Griffin Lake and Mount English to the south plus Griffin Mountain to the west. From the window, guests have many opportunities to watch the bald eagles as they hunt for their prey above the mouth of The Eagle River…hence the name of the room.

Finished in all natural pine with dark walnut post and beams, a vaulted ceiling with ceiling fan, air conditioner, a queen sized cherry wood sleigh bed, antique dresser and a private bright and spotless ensuite bath, this room lends itself well to romantics. Because of the earthy tones and the rustic wood, men feel very comfortable with the decor and relaxing atmosphere that the room imparts. A  very comfortable bed with fine linens and inventive touches add to the warmness of ones experience.

The Griffin Room

Surround yourself with elegance in this spacious main level room. A classic neutral backdrop in creams and whites contrasts nicely with the dark furniture providing a peaceful, relaxing space. The gold tones of the linens and drapery coupled with Mexican terra cotta floor tiles creates a warm and cozy atmosphere. It features a queen-sized cherry wood sleigh bed, antique dresser and armoire, leather love seat, a private ensuite bath and air conditioning. The sink is thoughtfully tucked against a unique corner wall constructed in cedar making it easier for two people to simultaneously prepare for the beginning or end of day. This room has a private entrance from outdoors.

The views in all directions are spectacular -  to the right Griffin Mountain, from which the room takes it’s name; directly in front, and southward, Griffin Lake and the snow-capped Monashee Mountains surrounded by lush forest.

In keeping with the natural setting outside, the lodge itself is designed to reflect the same authenticity inside thus promoting a relaxing, peaceful ambiance in each of the rooms. In addition, we provide some great reading material and various board games.  Our aim is that you slow down, rid yourself of daily stresses, enjoy yourself and your company – embrace nature.

The Jordan Room

This room is “Forest View” and is named after The Jordan Mountain Range which can be viewed from the north facing window. Off to the west…Griffin Mountain.

The palette in this room creates a truly restful mood. Calm yet colorful. Various greens and blues are set off by touches of white and teal which creates a nice contrast to the dark furniture. Both the guestroom and adjoining private bathroom ceilings feature large open beams. The room has a vaulted ceiling with a ceiling fan, air conditioner, a queen size bed, armoire and leather arm chair.  It is located on the second level of the lodge.
