Thank you again for a wonderful stay. To quote Matthew - "I really really like the room, I reallly really like the cabin and the food is awesome. Heather sure is a good cook". Thank you both for your hospitality. You have a great way with our kids and make them special. As always, staying here is the highlight of our holidays!

About Revelstoke, British Columbia

The city of Revelstoke lies in the heart of the Columbia Mountains approximately midway between Vancouver, British Columbia (641 km) and Calgary, Alberta (415 km). It is a main transportation center for Canada's east-west flow of commerce and tourism as well as a  resource development center for the south eastern sector of British Columbia.  The warm and friendly people combined with it's spectacular natural setting make it one of Canada's premier vacation destinations in both summer and winter. Unlike the more well established (i.e. crowded) vacation areas like Banff and Jasper, Revelstoke is still relatively quiet and slow paced, or,  to use the vernacular - "laid-back". We often here guests describing their stay at Griffin Lake Mountain Lodge as a "vacation from their vacation" (you can read excerpts from our guest comment book).

Revelstoke is surrounded by BC mountain paradise. To the east lies the spectacular Selkirk Mountain Range (the eastern range of the Columbias), Mount Revelstoke National Park, Rodgers Pass, Albert Canyon and Glacier National Park. To the east lies the Monashee Mountain Range (the western range of the Columbias) with it's towering snow-capped peaks, The Eagle Valley, Three Valley Gap and Griffin Lake Mountain Lodge (27 km from Revelstoke). The Columbia valley runs north and south from the city drained by the mighty Columbia River which flows south through the valley, eventually crossing into the U.S.A. and into the Pacific Ocean at Portland, Oregon. With all of this mountain terrain, their is an abundance of adventure and activity to enjoy. For more information about "things to do" in this area, visit our recreation page.

Other interesting websites and actual places to visit include the Revelstoke Railway Museum which chronicles the colorful story of the Canadian Pacific Railway, The Revelstoke Museum and  The City of Revelstoke Site.
