Griffin Lake Mountain Lodge Bed and Breakfast

We are awed and appreciative of all that was invested to create such a wonderful environment at this B&B. The ambiance, hospitality and beautiful atmosphere enabled us to really relax. Food was great. Many thanks.

Nadine and I thoroughly enjoyed our weekend getaway to your Bed and Breakfast. It was a holiday where we can say we truly relaxed. I will list just a few of the highlights: hiking the trail along the river, watching the trout spawn, exploring the mountainside on the other side of the lake, helping Wayne clear the trail to camp creek falls, getting to know Storm, getting to know and visiting with the other guests, the view from our room, all of the incredible meals and bird watching. We saw the following species: yellow-rumped Warbler, Rufous Hummingbird, Common Raven, American Robin, Common Merganser, Belted Kingfisher, Barn Swallow, Violet Green Swallow, Bald Eagle, Yellow Warbler, Varied Thrush, Chestnut-backed Chickadee, American Crow, Dark-eyed Junco, Osprey, Song Sparrow, Canada Goose, Steller’s Jay, Ring-necked Duck, Spotted Sandpiper, American Dipper, Chipping Sparrow. Thanks for a great weekend.

We appreciated the meticulous attention to detail that the Harvey’s have taken to make their Bed and Breakfast attractive and comfortable. Great food, too. Thanks so much.

Such a shame we couldn’t stay longer. What a fantastic place. We have stayed in many places that claim to be “unique” and “homey” but this place beats them all hands down. The attention to detail and little touches – trinkets, books etc – really make it feel like staying at a friend’s house. Wayne and Heather are exceptional hosts. Watching the salmon, the misty mountains, canoeing on the lake…a short but memorable stay in a beautifully located and decorated place. We’ll be back!

It has been so good to return a year after our first visit. As we write this, the moon is rising over the mountain and reflecting in the lake just as it did last year. Today has been very special as we have walked the back mountain trails of the Meadows in the Sky. Of all of the trails that we have done in so many areas of the world, these on Mt. Revelstoke are just about the most beautiful. Now we can relax and reflect after a very lovely day. You do everything so well here! Thank you again…….

In England we use the word “excellent” far too often. Griffin Lake Lodge has shown the true meaning of the word from the hospitality shown to us by Wayne and Heather, the spectacular scenery from the English Room, and especially the ambiance of the whole place which quiclly relaxes guests from all countries. Wish we were staying a lot longer. James thinks this is the best. Thanks very much again.

Just driving through this wonderful country we found this wonderful place. Having a superb view of the snowy mountains, enjoying  wonderful people, sleeping in a beautiful lodge….we guess this must be paradise!

The reason we came to Canada was to see beauty such as this. After 2 weeks in the country this is the most beautiful place yet. We will be back!

Staying at the “Griffin Lake Lodge” in the Griffin Room beside Griffin Mountain, especially when your last name is Griffin, is certainly special. What a comfortable place, with wonderful hosts! Breakfast was delicious. Very relaxing environment. Off to the “Enchanted Forest”.

Visiting your lodge was like visiting long lost friends on their beautiful house – we enjoyed every minute, good luck and good health to you! With all our international travelers respect.

Are we ever glad that we stopped and checked in! Your beautiful lodge and your hospitality in this spectacular setting on the lake have only been “balsam for the soul” to us. What a beautiful place! We stumbled across this place due to a down pour and not wanting to spend a night under wet canvas; the most fortunate discovery of our trip. The environment and atmosphere is perfect and the attention to detail, excellent! I am going to come back and get Heather to teach me how to cook. Wow! Both of you and your lodge are an inspiration. OK, so where does a guest start? Maybe with the view…that’s it; the beautiful mountains back dropping the rugged Canadian wilderness. Or how about the exquisite and creative decorating of the lodge that used to be a “pile of rubble”. Perhaps it is the awesome home cooking that my waistline will never forgive you for! I won’t even the mention the fantastic sleeps in the wonderfully comfy beds; the warm ambiance that coaxes the most varied and interesting conversation from all your guests; or the genuine warmth and congeniality that you shared that made us feel so pampered and at home. Uh- uh- none of that–it’s the dog-that’s right, it’s Storm! We just love your dog!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thanks for all. God willing, we’ll be back.

In Louisiana, “lagniappe” means an unexpected, positive surprise. This lodge is truly a “lagniappe” experience. The exquisite detailing of the wood, the beautiful scenery, the scrumptious meals, down to the patter of raindrops on the awnings create strong powerful memories for us. It has been so much fun getting to know you and the other guests. It is evident that much love and care have gone into building your lovely home. My wife spotted the sign from the highway and we decided to check it out. We were planning on staying in Revelstoke but once we stepped into Storm’s Cabin, we loved it. The bed was like a cloud, we had a very restful sleep. Yummy breakfast made with love was the perfect finishing touch. We will be back.

This is one of the most amazing places on earth to spend time. The best start to a week long honeymoon – stayed 3 days, wished we’d stayed all week. Amazing food each morning and delicious suppers, we ate here each night – the Alfredo EXCELLENT! The view is breathtaking and the cabin is cozy and the perfect size. The bed is so comfortable, best sleeps in a long time. Going out on the many boats around the lake is a must, the mountains and wildlife were stunning, we loved floating around the lake. Amazing honeymoon, gorgeous place, we’ll be back for sure! Thank you to the two amazing hosts, we’re jealous of this great spot you have. See you again.

As always, we received a warm welcome and after a 5 hour car journey it was perfect. I cannot emphasize how welcoming and relaxing it is to be here. With mountains, a lake and a river as a backdrop to such hospitality it is no wonder we have returned and we are already planning a winter visit. Sunshine, storms, bald eagles, canoes and endless cups of coffee insure that we have the perfect break. How you (Heather and Wayne) manage to stay so enthusiastic about what is in your own back garden is a testament to what you have achieved. Warm, inviting, beautiful, charming – and that just begins to decribe the hosts Heather and Wayne. Once you meet them, you will discover that the Bed and Breakfast is just an extension of who they are. Spectacular views, limitless hospitality, canoeing on a mountain lake, beds you want to stay all day in but can’t because you know that a delious breakfast with home made bread and fresh brewed coffee awaits you – all this made me wish we had booked more than one night.

We had an exquisite time – so picturesque! Being so near the Trans Canada Highway, I wasn’t sure if the traffic would keep us awake, but once inside our room, it was peaceful and quiet and we got a sound sleep in a lovely, comfy sleigh bed. Wayne and Heather are very gracious hosts and everything was perfect – meals , bed and surrounding lake – we’ll definitely be back again!

While driving to Vancouver we both saw this B&B and neither of us had ever had a chance to stay at one. After spending a few days out west and in the USA we were driving back and saw this beautiful place. As we drove in we were nicely greeted by Heather and after having a small tour we decided we had to stay here. The canoeing was great, especially when the water looked like glass and you were able to see the reflection of the mountains. Also, the rainbow trout were spawning and that was neat to see. Thank you ever so much for everything and since it is almost 8:30 we must go and see how great the food tastes.

Wow! What can we say – this is paradise. Your photos show how hard you both have worked to make it that way. This was the “perfect” spot for our 5th wedding anniversary. Your hospitality is fabulous! ………There is obviously a word or a phrase that describes the ambiance of the lodge itself, the majesty of the mountains and the serenity of the lake. I am not a linguist, but I don’t think that German phrases can accommodate the feelings. The French have a phrase for it, I just don’t know what it is. Marmots and dear have a single sound that covers it. I don’t know that either; but I think it must sound something like “home”. Thanks.

We loved the view across the lake and the garden, the beautiful surroundings, the rumbling trains and — most of all — the friendly hospitality.This is one of the best B&B’s anywhere!

My sister-in-laws are sound asleep in the superbly comfortable beds, complete with Egyptian cotton sheets. I am sitting on the leather love seat, curled up in the corner watching the mist moving slowly over the tops of the trees. I want to write something memorable to put into words how I feel about my stay at Griffin Lake Lodge, but I am uncharacteristically lost for words! Instead I am sitting here watching the lake and its sheer stillness. I am remembering Heather’s welcoming smile and the laughter we shared with our lodging buddies. I am thinking of how amazing our breakfast is going to taste this morning and as I take in the wonderment of this place, I am asking myself, “Why am I going home?” Thank you.

This is the quintessential picture post card of Canada; a log cabin by a mountain lake in the Rockies! Glad we came and proud to be a Canadian living in such a wonderful country!
